Maybe for years or even a decade or more. If you have lots of kids your payments will he huge. If you have a house, you will probably have to keep paying her enough to make that payment.This money problem is why you have been staying in too long of a bad marriage. You fear how you will live. You fear how much you will have to pay. I went through all this. I talk about the fear in my book - "How to Leave Your Wife" - and how I decided to do it in spite of the fear. I just decided to let the chips fall where they may. I just could not go on the way things were. At first I lived very inexpensively with friends and family. Then later I continued to live as cheaply as I could with a combination of what income I had left over from child support/maintenance and money from my parents. But what about if you have no parents or family to help you? What if you feel like you are alone? I have just bought two inexpensive books that show an extremely inexpensive way to live in your vehicle. The first book is titled Vanabode written by Jason Odom. The second book is titled How to Live Cheaply in a Car, Van or RV written by Robert Wells. You can learn more about these books on this page - Afford Divorce. I bought these books because I am interested in cheap travel. But cheap travel also means cheap living. Both books describe how you can have a fantastic lifestyle living out of a vehicle. You live well without a huge mortgage or rent payment. You have to have a vehicle anyway. Why not have a vehicle you can live in as well as drive around in. Why let a lack of money stop you from having a good life? Whatever you do, do not let a lack of money stop you from leaving your wife. This is your life. You deserve a good life. You are not here to live out your life in a loveless. abusive marriage where you are just waiting to die. You need to leave your wife and let the chips fall where they may.
